Get ASCII Data Into Your DeviceNet PLC
The 460DSA moves data between a DeviceNet Master and Serial ASCII devices. It’s the perfect tool to get simple ASCII devices like barcode scanners, weigh scales, markers and printers connected to a DeviceNet controller.

It’s also a great tool to help you link legacy PC based systems into a DeviceNet controller. Full bi-directional data communication is supported.

How Does it Work?
Up to 240 bytes of DeviceNet data can be mapped to and from your DeviceNet Master device. The data segments can be converted to ASCII and concatenated into a string that is delivered to the ASCII device. If you need to send data to the DeviceNet Master, an incoming ASCII string can be parsed and each segment can be directed to a user defined IO data location.

Need to scale your data or manipulate it with other math functions? The 460DSA allows you to add scaling to any data, apply simple math operations, add alarming and control the request speeds of your Master device.

Configure Your Data Transfer from a Web Page
All the data transfer is configurable using the embedded web server. You define the DeviceNet Slave device address, baud rate, ASCII baud rate and parity.

The 460DSA is the Smart Connection solution for moving data between ASCII devices and a DeviceNet Master.

Why Use Real Time Automation as a Gateway Supplier?
The 460DSA provides an option to connect your legacy ASCII devices and systems into a DeviceNet controller. While there are certainly a number of other companies offering solutions like ours, there is no one who provides the level of support and service that you receive from RTA.

When you call, a live person answers the phone. When you talk with sales, you will get honest answers and recommendations even if that means recommending someone else’s solution. When you get support, it is from an engineer who had a hand in the product’s development, and that doesn’t require a ticket or 24 hour wait. We are unashamed of the fact that we are a smaller company because, that means, you mean more to us.

What our Customers are Saying

“I challenged a customer to get it working by the time I got back from his break room with a Coke and he indeed had it working when I got back. He then said, "It’s worth twice the price!"”

Eric P. / Kendall Electric

“Everything seems to be working as we imagined. Thanks for the great response time. I did not see any way to save the configuration other than screen shots, but the configuration did not get lost in the update. Thanks again, and you were a pleasure to work with.”
