We understand the long hours you spend on the factory floor, including the pressure to get and keep a line running and the product flowing. That’s how Real Time Automation came to be. You want easy-to-use solutions where the hardest part is opening the box. You need customer support second to none. If you get all that, and you get a fun customer experience, all the better. It has been 30 years now but our mission remains the same: to get your data where you need it, when you need it and how you need it.
Our products are built, configured and shipped right here in the good ol’ USA.
Because our products are built in the USA, they are always in stock.
Orders ship same day if placed before 2 pm CST. You’ll get it when you need it.
When you call, a live person answers the phone. Our sales team gives you honest answers. Support is from an engineer, who had a hand in the product’s development, and doesn’t require a ticket or 24-hour wait.
You won’t have to blame the dog for eating your RTA product. We don’t care if you confuse the AC with DC power or if you run the unit over with a forklift. If you break it, we will fix it or replace it at no cost for five years.
Every gateway company promises you an “easy-to-use” experience. But they’re big companies that believe in building complex products that can meet every application problem with the same black box. You won’t get that from a small, customer focused team like RTA, instead of a box that is designed to meet the needs of 500 different customers, with a gazillion features you don’t need, you’ll get a box that does the one thing you want it to do.
Sometimes you have your own unique protocol; sometimes it would really help if your data was scaled, summarized or manipulated in some way and sometimes you need a whole new custom product for a special application. We’ll do any and all of that for you. Anything to meet your requirements. And you’ll be working with an Engineering team that has delivered custom industrial applications for almost 30 years.
The world of industrial communications is a massive space of protocols, acronyms and processes. RTA’s Learning Center is here to help. It contains videos, blogs, newsletters and more to help you conquer the vast universe of industrial networking. RTA also hosts live training events and will bring our training on the road to your office.
RTA cares for its customers. When you purchase a product or service from us, you become part of our family. We touch base with you periodically to see if we can be of help, and maybe even deliver a gift from time to time. Keep an eye on your mailbox (no, not your email box, the original U.S.P.S. kind).
RTA isn’t the only company that offers factory floor and manufacturing communications. We know who they are, and all of us are in it to make money.
That is where our view differs to others, we believe a business should be about something other than just making money. That’s why we’re different. We are proud of being an employee-owned, American industrial automation company.
We take pride in the product we manufacture and develop right here in the USA. That is why we focus on delivering the promises above, so you (our customer), or your customer that is in need of an easy, simple to implement solution can breathe a little easier.
We LOVE what we do and have a blast doing it. THAT’S OUR PROMISE!
“It is seldom that you come across companies which share the same determination as your own. RTA has worked very closely with our staff and has not only developed products to help increase sales but also helped to improve our products for the marketplace. I feel that RTA is truly an extension of our company”.

“I have found RTAs knowledge of PLC networks, especially DeviceNet and SDS, to be extremely valuable. Their years of experience allowed them to develop plug-in modules to our specifications more quickly and less costly than an in-house development. Along the way RTA provided quality documentation and hardware, well-debugged software and a friendly communicative attitude. We will continue to use RTA in the future.””
