You’ve heard all of the hype surrounding IoT and cloud application solutions like Amazon Web Services (AWS). But what does this all mean for your factory floor and how do you actually get your important data into applications like AWS IoT Core?
Meet RTA’s Newest Addition to the Team: MQTT Protocol Gateways
Your favorite, easy-to-use 460 gateways are now compatible with the MQTT protocol!
The 460 MQTT gateway is the tool needed to make communication with cloud applications accessible.
Broker devices manage the connection between the publishers and clients. MQTT is a superior way of moving data from sensors and actuators to various kinds of clients. It’s lightweight and reliable.
Using MQTT to move data to the cloud allows you to monitor your system’s health, schedule predictive maintenance, measure usage of a production line or machine, or any other operation metrics.
Thanks to it’s publish/subscribe architecture, MQTT allows two-way communication from the RTA gateway to the cloud and communication back to the RTA gateway back to the PLC.
Once your gateway is installed, you can easily configure your AWS or Azure stored data. While RTA doesn’t configure this data for you, our Enginerd Support is here to help you navigate this step.
