Modbus Data Mapping Templates

Eliminate repetitive protocol gateway module setup and avoid manual register mapping errors. Real Time Automation’s turnkey data mapping and templating service provides you with a custom gateway configuration file that automatically populates your unique set of Modbus registers and corresponding data points. Once created, this reusable template allows you to rapidly deploy protocol gateway hardware modules without onerous manual data mapping. Here’s how it works:

1. Provide RTA with a list of your device’s Modbus registers and coils from which you need to pull data and the corresponding protocol you are mapping data to
2. Let RTA’s Enginerds work their magic to build and test your custom template file
3. Have your RTA protocol gateway delivered with the data mapping file pre-loaded or upload the template file into your existing RTA protocol gateway to automatically map your data

If you are deploying multiple protocol gateways with identical setups, pulling data from several identical devices or want to avoid mapping high-density, complex Modbus register lists manually, RTA’s data mapping services are a massive time-saver.

Note that RTA’s Modbus templates cover the data mapping portion only. The protocol gateway module communications setup remains flexible, allowing you to set the baud rates, serial settings, network communications and physical wiring specific to your application. RTA also offers custom protocol gateway configuration options for customers with repeated demand for unique applications.
