The 460PSA moves data between an ASCII RS232, RS422 or RS485 device and your Profinet IO Controller. The 460PSA is the solution to get ASCII Barcode Readers, ASCII Weigh Scales, ASCII Printers and other ASCII devices connected to your Profinet IO Controller.
How Does the Data Move In and Out of the Profinet IO Controller?
The 460PSA gateway maps incoming ASCII data to ten 128-byte input slots on the Profinet IO network. Additionally, it maps outgoing ASCII data from ten 128-byte output slots on the Profinet IO network. Handshaking and the first 128 bytes of data utilize the first module in each direction. The gateway facilitates the transfer of up to 1024 ASCII characters in both directions. Moreover, if your device employs delimiters, the 460PSA can automatically remove delimiters from incoming messages and add them back to outgoing messages. This feature eliminates the need to handle delimiters in your controller, making the ASCII interface straightforward and user-friendly.
