BACnet MS/TP Manager to Allen-Bradley PLC Gateway

The easiest way to integrate a BACnet MS/TP building automation system with Allen-Bradley PLCs. The 460ETCBMS gateway allows you to move BACnet data between BACnet-controlled building automation systems (BAS) or BACnet controllers and up to 5 Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, CompactLogix, FlexLogix, MicroLogix, SLC 5/05 or PLC-5E PLCs.

Move BACnet Data Directly to Your Allen-Bradley PLC Data Table

The 460ETCBMS moves BACnet data between and up to 5 Allen-Bradley PLCs over a serial connection (RS-232/485/422 or CAN). As a result, you can easily bridge the gap between your BACnet MS/TP-enabled BAS or controllers and your industrial automation network.

COMPARE GATEWAY PLATFORMS

How Does the 460ETCBMS Gateway Move BACnet Data In and Out of the PLC?

To transfer data between a BACnet MS/TP controller and up to 5 Allen-Bradley PLCs, the PLCs must allocate memory space to receive and transmit data:

  • In newer PLCs, the memory space can consist of an individual tag, a tag array or a User Defined Tag (UDT) structure.
  • In legacy PLCs, the memory space consists of two sets of register blocks.

The 460ETCBMS stores data received from a BACnet MS/TP controller in the area designated to receive data. It gets data to transmit to a BACnet MS/TP controller from the area designated to transmit data.

Because BACnet MS/TP controllers exchange data via objects, the 460ETCBMS supports the Analog Input, Analog Output and Binary Input and Binary Output objects. It maps these objects directly into your designated PLC memory areas. It’s really that simple.

Need to modify your data as it passes from one protocol to the other? No problem. Each data mapping you apply can be modified with up to three mathematical functions. This allows you to manipulate values within the gateway itself before data reaches its destination.

What our Customers are Saying

“I challenged a customer to get it working by the time I got back from his break room with a Coke and he indeed had it working when I got back. He then said, "It’s worth twice the price!"”

Eric P. / Kendall Electric

“Everything seems to be working as we imagined. Thanks for the great response time. I did not see any way to save the configuration other than screen shots, but the configuration did not get lost in the update. Thanks again, and you were a pleasure to work with.”

Kevin L. / Extol, Inc.
