How Do I Use the 460MMBMS in My Application?

For most applications the mapping is very straight forward. Modbus register data is mapped to BACnet analog objects and Modbus coil data is mapped to binary objects on BACnet. The only additional piece required for BACnet is adding meta data which is nothing more than an ASCII description of each object. No other deep understanding of either protocol is required to configure the gateway.

It really is that simple. Need to modify your data as it passes from one protocol to the other? No problem. Each data mapping you apply can be modified with up to three mathematical functions. Add four to a value, multiply by four and divide by 10 with ease.

Move Your Data Bi-directionally

You can both send and receive data to and from your Modbus RTU slave devices. Registers and coils in the Modbus RTU slaves are mapped directly to BACnet MS/TP properties of Analog Input, Analog Output, Binary Input, and Binary Output. Up to 150 Analog Inputs, 150 Analog Outputs, 1600 Binary Inputs, and 1600 Binary Outputs can be mapped to registers and coils in up to 31 Modbus RTU slave devices.
