Connect Your Modbus TCP Network to Your Modern BACnet/IP Field Devices

The 460MSBC moves automation data between up to 10 Modbus TCP clients and up to 32 BACnet/IP server devices. It’s a perfect tool to bridge the gap between your industrial automation control network and the devices running your facility without writing custom logic or downloading software.
How Does the 460MSBC Protocol Gateway Move Data in My Application?
For most applications, the data mapping is very straight forward:
- Modbus register data is mapped to BACnet Analog Inputs (AI) and Analog outputs (AO)
- Modbus coil data is mapped to BACnet Binary Inputs (BI) and Binary Outputs (BO)
The only additional piece of information required for BACnet is adding metadata, which is nothing more than an ASCII description of each object. No other deep understanding of either protocol is required to configure the gateway. It really is that simple.
Need to modify your data as it passes from one protocol to the other? No problem. Each data mapping you apply can be modified with up to three mathematical functions. This allows you to manipulate values within the gateway itself before data reaches its destination.
Not exactly what you were looking for? Real Time Automation offers a full line of Modbus TCP protocol gateways and BACnet/IP protocol gateways.
Simplify Device Connectivity with Modbus Data Mapping Templates
Real Time Automation’s Modbus data mapping and template services save you time deploying multiple gateways with identical setups, pulling data from identical devices and manually mapping high-density data maps. All you need to do is provide RTA with the list of Modbus registers and coils from your device and your target protocol, and you get a custom configuration file that can be pre-loaded onto future gateways or uploaded into the gateways already deployed in your network.
- No manual entry of Modbus registers or data mapping to BACnet objects
- Customizable tag names to fit your existing naming conventions
Why Trust Real Time Automation As Your Protocol Partner?

What our Customers are Saying
“I challenged a customer to get it working by the time I got back from his break room with a Coke and he indeed had it working when I got back. He then said, "It’s worth twice the price!"”
Eric P. / Kendall Electric
“Everything seems to be working as we imagined. Thanks for the great response time. I did not see any way to save the configuration other than screen shots, but the configuration did not get lost in the update. Thanks again, and you were a pleasure to work with.”
Kevin L. / Extol, Inc.
